Black Cherry

This tree will grow in almost any soil and flourishes in the shelter of larger trees.  The five to six inch leaves are dark green on top and light green below.  The wild cherries tempt many birds and small animals.  The leaves are a favorite of butterflies, and deer love the rough bark that becomes rougher with age.
