Cooper-Young Garden Club is a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
Your gift helps beautify the Cooper-Young neighborhood today and for the next generation to come. This is a wonderful way to honor family and friends.
Donations by individuals, foundations, and corporations enable the Cooper-Young Garden Club to fund yearly beautification projects, host garden speakers and put on the annual Cooper-Young Garden Walk.
PROJECTS WE SUPPORT:
- Host annual “Experience Memphis Gardens” 6 week garden tours throughout Memphis
- Host Annual Cooper-Young Garden Walk
- Hosts monthly garden club meetings on informative topics
- Funded Southern Avenue Beautification Project–planted 1,500 natives in the hellstrips and commissioned 7 murals
- Awards “C Y We Beautify” neighborhood beautification grants
- Award monthly: “Yard of the Month, Business of the Month, + Beauty Grows Here” signs
- Established Certified Level 3 Arboretum
- Weeding/mulching Ginkgo Trees along Cooper
- Adds + Maintains gateway planters
- Decorate the Gazebo for the winter holidays
- Adopted Spanish Memorial Park
- Tree Reimbursement Program
- Help Peabody Elem. Garden Club with garden projects
- Publish garden club blog
- Publish monthly garden articles for Lamplighter
- Assist with CYCA neighborhood clean-ups
- Participate in neighborhood “St. Patrick’s Day Parade”
- Gives talks about beautification ideas to other groups around MidSouth
- “Spruce Up Bruce Street” Beautification Project
- Member of:
- Memphis Travel Bureau, Cooper-Young Community Association, Cooper-Young Business Association, Metro Memphis Attractions Association, and District 1, Tennessee Federation of Garden Clubs (TFGC).
