Albizia is a small tree that seldom grows taller than 25 feet in height.  Albizia leaves are alternate, doubly compound, flattened, and blue-green.  Flowers are white and pink puffs of fine-stranded hairs.  Long, flat, beanlike fruit develops in late summer and hangs on the tree most of the winter.  Native to central China through Iran, it was first introduced to the United States in the mid-1700’s.
