To Hear dynamic speakers in the field of gardening and design, join the Memphis Horticultural Society which meets the 1st Tuesday of each Month. Meetings are held at the Memphis Botanic Gardens, 6:30pm-7pm, potluck and socializing, speakers at 7pm. They bring in local + nationally known speakers and often swap plants…always a wonderful evening.
This next meeting is Sept.5, 2017 and the speaker is Carolyn Converse, who will givean overview of The High Line, the amazing public park on Manhattan’s West Side that was transformed from an elevated freight rail line. The High Line’s landscape was created in partnership with Netherlands-based planting designer Piet Oudolf and is truly a four-season garden space. My husband and I visited this space a few years ago and it was astonishing and so much fun walking such a beautiful space above the streets and homes below.
