Phoebe Cook Lecture Series

November 16, 2017 @ 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Plant collectors Sue and Bleddyn Wynn-Jones own Crûg Farm, a combination nursery and walled garden in north Wales. The nursery specializes in unusual herbaceous perennials, climbers, and shrubs, many that are propagated from over 18,000 seed and plant collections. The seed and plant collections were gathered during the Wynn-Jones’ 75 expeditions. Crûg Farm counts Buckingham Palace among its regular clientele, and it is a revered destination for gardeners looking for inspiration for their own designs.

Sue and Bleddyn Wynn-Jones have spent over 20 years traveling to Vietnam, Nepal, Korea, the Philippines, and other countries in search of these rare and unusual plants. Their Phoebe Cook Lecture will focus on their expeditions in northern Vietnam. Having explored the region’s mountainous forests seven times since 1999, they have discovered new species and other exciting plants. Chelsea Flower Show President Award winners Sue and Bleddyn Wynn-Jones provide an invaluable contribution to plant science and conservation today.

The Phoebe Cook Lecture Series is co-sponsored by the Memphis Garden Club, a member of the Garden Club of America, and Dixon Gallery and Gardens.

Free with Dixon membership or regular admission.  Open to the public. Limited seating available.
